Dear LaLiberte Families:
We finished up a week of hard work here at LaLiberte with students in grades 3 and 4 taking the ELA MCAS assessment. They worked so hard and deserve a little celebrating this weekend! All MCAS make-up tests are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday of next week. It looks to be a beautiful day on Monday, April 8th, for the solar eclipse! The solar eclipse watch party hosted by RaynWater STEAM begins at 2:30pm on Bettencourt Field, between the Merrill and LaLiberte Schools. Please bring picnic blankets or beach towels to sit on. NO pets are allowed at the event. All children must be supervised by an adult. You may drop into the event at any time between 2:30-4:00 pm. Parents arriving to dismiss students, please form a line at the back door of the gym closest to the playground. You will enter the gym and show an ID to sign students out. Exit the gym at the door closest to the front of the building and driveway. Your child will receive solar eclipse glasses at school on Monday to bring home with them. Attached to this email is safety information about viewing the eclipse. eclipse viewing safety (1).pdf IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION: Participants at the Raynham Solar Eclipse Watch Party at Bettencourt Field should use the Raynham Middle School side parking lot. To park in this lot, use the side access road only to avoid RMS dismissal traffic. Do NOT use the RMS main parking lots or roads between 2:00 pm and 2:45pm. There should be NO parking on Darrington Drive or Titicut Road. If the school lots fill, parking can take place in the Pleasant Field neighborhood, which begins on Michael Road. Please note that participants parked illegally may be towed or fined. Please do not block entrances to driveways, businesses, schools, or other entities. It is essential that emergency vehicles be able to pass through easily. As the areas around the watch party will be busy, please watch for pedestrians while driving. Pedestrians, please cross streets and parking areas carefully and stop to look for vehicles before crossing. Holly R.
