Hello LaLiberte Families,
I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! Here is our weekly information:

• Great News!! We exceeded our first Fun Run goal!!! We asked for 35% of our families to register online before October 6th and we surpassed our goal. As a reward, students and staff get to participate in crazy sock day this Tuesday, which is our kick off day!!! Thank you to all the families who have registered thus far. Let’s see those CRAZY socks!!!
  
• This year, students have the opportunity to earn a Cafeteria Golden Ticket for each time a classroom follows the cafeteria expectations. Once a classroom earns 5 golden tickets, they get to have “fine dining’ on the stage during lunch. They enjoy their  lunch with tablecloths, flowers, and other dining decor.
  
• ​2026 Spring MCAS results went home with our fourth grade students last Friday.
• Parent/Guardian Teacher Conference appointment slips will go home this Monday, October 5th.
• ​Fall Photos will be taken this Monday, October 5th.
• Half day this Wednesday, October 7th. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.
• No School October 12 in observance of Indigenous People Day

I hope everyone stayed safe and dry during our weekend storm. Here is weekly information:

• Fall Photos will be taken Monday. October 5th.
• Our first half day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.
• Just a friendly reminder, please send a note or email if you are dismissing your child early from school.
• Please send in a change of clothes with your child in a labeled bag so it can be kept in their locker in the event they get sick or have an accident. 
• Parent/Guardian- Teacher Conferences will be held at the end of October. Information will be sent out next week.

It’s time! You can sign up your student for our LaLiberte Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $45,000 for field trips and enrichment. Signing up is easy and comes with a fun prize for your student! ️ Sign Up on MyBooster.com  ️

Hello LaLiberte Families,
I hope you had  a nice weekend despite a rainy Sunday. Our Open House last week was very well attended! Thank you to all families who visited Laliberte School to help us get the school year off to an amazing start!  Here is our weekly information:

• Fall Photos will be taken Monday. October 5th.
• Our first half day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.
• ​Just a friendly reminder, please send a note or email if you are dismissing your child early from school.

• It has been brought to my attention that adults are losing their patience during arrival and dismissal times. I understand there is an immense amount of traffic and everyone needs to get to work in the morning and to activities in the afternoon, however, the safety of our students AND staff is our top priority. Beeping horns, yelling, and using offensive language simply cannot happen. It is important to remember that our children are watching all adults in how they handle stressful situations. Please know that I continue to have conversations with Officer Jenny of how we can improve the flow of traffic, but we are limited with the amount of space we have to work with. I am happy to hear any suggestions you have that would help this situation. We will continue to actively try to find ways to improve our arrival and dismissal times. In the meantime, I respectfully ask for everyone’s support and cooperation. Thank you!

LaLiberte School Open House is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 16th during the following times:
​5:00 - 6:00 - Grades 2 & 4
6:30 - 7:30 - Grade 3
​iReady Diagnostic Beginning of the Year testing will take place September 14 - 25.
Fall Photos will be taken on Monday, October, 5th.
Our first half day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.
Each Friday, students have the opportunity to buy ice cream. This year, the cost has increased to $1.50.

Information from Nurse Sproul : A Note from the Health Office
Welcome! Below you will find important links and information on health initiatives for this year.

1. LaLiberte Elementary School is a Peanut/Tree nut Aware school. Please alert the school nurse of any allergies your child may have. Children with a diagnosed life threatening allergy requiring an Epipen must provide an Epipen and Allergy Action Plan prior to any scheduled field trips. 2. Any student needing medication at school must have written documentation from their doctor and signed consent from their parent/guardian. 4. Routine Health Screening will occur this year. They are as follows:
   Grade 2: Vision & Hearing 
   Grade 3: Vision & Hearing;  Copy of recent Physical exam required.
   Grade 4: Vision, Height & Weight
   Please reach out as soon as possible to the school nurse if you wish to have your child opt out of a vision or hearing screening! These will likely begin in early October.
   
5. Please send a change of clothes in your student’s backpack to keep at school for spills or accidents that may occur.

What a great opening of school we had last week! It was so nice to have our students and staff back in the building for another amazing school year! Here is our weekly information:

 Arrival – To keep our morning flow moving safely and efficiently:

• Please proceed all the way through the parent drop-off line rather than stopping in the upper parking lot, as this helps traffic move smoothly for everyone.
• Once you've turned the bend, have your child exit the car (rather than waiting until the front of the crosswalk) so we can keep multiple vehicles flowing through.
• After dropping off your child, please turn LEFT. The right lane in front of the building is reserved for buses and vans.

Dismissal – A friendly reminder about afternoon pickup:

• If your child walks to the basketball courts, please make sure an adult is there to greet them.
• For safety reasons, students cannot walk to Merrill School on their own.
• If you have children at both schools, you have two options: meet your child at the basketball court and walk over to Merrill together, or pick up from Merrill first, then drive to LaLiberte for dismissal through our parent pickup line. We understand that managing two schools takes a few extra minutes, and both schools are happy to work with you!

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend!! This is our last LaLiberte Links for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

• LaLiberte Fun Day - On Monday, June 22nd, the LPO is sponsoring a special event… LaLiberte Fun Day. Each grade level will have the opportunity to play games and participate in special activities during the day. Please have your child wear cool, summer clothing, sneakers, a hat and sunscreen. Also, please bring a water bottle.
• Last Day of School - Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 23rd. This is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.

End of year reminder from the nurse: If your child has an epipen, inhaler, any as needed medication or left over daily medications, please remember to pick these up at the nurses office before the end of day on Tuesday June 23rd. Any medications not picked up by a parent/guardian will be disposed of prior to breaking for the summer. Please feel free to call the nurse with any questions or to make arrangements prior to the end of the school year. Thank you!

What a beautiful weekend! I hope you and your family are enjoying this amazing weather! Here is our information for this week.

• Grade 4 Step Up Day - Our fourth graders enjoyed their visit to RMS this past week. Students enjoyed special activities outside when they returned. Thank you to the LPO for coordinating this fun event.
• Grade 4 Concerts - Last Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the fourth grade classes performed their annual recorder concert. What talented students we have!!! A big thank you to Mr. Schofield for teaching our students the recorder and for coordinating such a special concert.
• Field Day - Last Friday, LaLiberte students participated in field day and they had a blast!! Thank you to Mr. Connor and Mrs. Zoccolante for organizing the field day events and to the many volunteers who helped.
• Juneteenth - There is no school, Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
• Last Day of School - Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 23rd. This is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 pm. Lunch will be served.

I hope you had a nice weekend despite the unsettled weather. Here is what’s happening at LaLibert School this week.

• Second grade students had a wonderful time at Franklin Park Zoo last Friday. Third graders enjoyed exploring Plimoth Putaxet last Wednesday. Our remaining fourth grade classrooms completed their individual classroom field trips to the YMCA camp. Thank you to the many volunteers who chaperoned our field trips. Our students wouldn't have been able to have these experiences without you.
  
• Fourth grade students will visit RMS on Monday for their Step Up Day. Afterwards, they will participate in special activities.
• ​Grade 4 concerts will take place this week at 6:00 pm in the gym:
  

         Tuesday - Mrs.  Santos, Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Tolman 
          Wednesday - Dr. Tibbetts, Mrs. Schneeweis, Mrs. Silvia

Happy Memorial Day weekend! I’d like to thank all the families who participated in the Memorial Day Parade on Saturday. It looked like everyone had a great time representing LaLiberte School!!

The year is winding down, but we are still very busy at Laliberte! Here is our weekly information:

• Thank you to Mr. Schofield, third grade teachers and of course, our third grade students, for presenting us with such  wonderful musical performances last week. Everyone did an amazing job!
• This Tuesday morning we will have our annual Senior Stroll. This is when our graduating BR seniors visit their elementary and middle schools as the students and staff congratulate them on their accomplishments. It is such a special event and one that we look forward to every year.
  
• Grade 4 Field Trip: Tuesday - Mrs. Silvia, Wednesday - Mrs. Tolman, Thursday - Mrs. Schneeweis
  
• Grade 3 Field trip -  all third graders will visit Plimoth Putuxet on Wednesday.
  
• The LPO - the LPO held its final meeting for the year last week. On behalf of the LaLiberte staff, I would like to thank the LPO board, its members and volunteers for their support and dedication this year. We truly appreciate everything they did for our students and staff! I’d also like to thank LPO President, Beth Alles, for her many years of hard work and dedication to the students and staff of LaLiberte School. Beth is moving on to RMS next year and her presence will truly be missed!

As we approach Memorial Day, we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving our country. Their sacrifice has helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

At school, we encourage students to reflect on the importance of gratitude, service, and community in age-appropriate ways. Memorial Day also marks an opportunity for families to spend time together and enjoy the unofficial beginning of summer.

We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.
